Location:  McMillan Hospital Building, 1st Floor
Synopsis:  A patient was upset about an appointment at the Eye Clinic on the first floor of the McMillan Hospital Building. She became irate and verbally abusive toward the staff. She left the exam room and walked into areas designated for staff only, while screaming and cursing. Protective Services responded to the area and escorted her from the clinic to the vestibule. The patient screamed and cursed at officers, put her hands near the officers’ faces,  and refused to leave the area. Officers eventually removed her from the building and monitored her as she walked through campus, continually screaming and cursing. She ultimately left campus with no further contact with officers or staff.

Sexual Misconduct, Assault

Synopsis:  An unaffiliated subject entered the women’s restroom on the 2nd floor of the BJCIH. He stuck his head under an occupied stall. The occupant, a BJH employee, screamed and the subject fled the area. BJH Public Safety officers located him shortly after and took him into custody. The employee wished to press charges. The SLMPD responded and took custody of the subject. He was charged with sexual misconduct and assault.
Disposition: Suspect Arrest. Judicial Disposition Unknown.

Trespassing

Synopsis:  Protective Services officers assisted two MetroLink Public Safety officers with a subject who was laying on the ground near Sarah and Clayton Avenues. MetroLink officers said the subject had jumped onto the MetroLink tracks and laid down.  MetroLink officers called the SLMPD but the subject walked away prior to their arrival. Protective Services officers monitored the subject as he left to ensure that he did not trespass on campus property.  The subject walked to the BJC Commons and laid down. BJC Public Safety warned the subject against future trespass and escorted him from the property.  Later, Protective Services officers observed the same subject trespassing at the BJC Commons again. BJH Public Safety officers detained him and contacted the SLMPD. The SLMPD declined to respond so the subject was released with another warning against future trespass. About an hour later, BJH Public Safety officers notified Protective Services that the same subject had trespassed in the @4240 Building. Protective Services arrived and took custody of the subject. They determined the subject was highly intoxicated.  They called the SLMPD, who again declined to respond. Officers contacted the subjects wife who responded to pick him up. He was released to her with another warning against future trespass.

Assault

Location:  S. Taylor Ave. before Forest Park Ave. 
Synopsis:  Officers received a report that an unaffiliated subject was in the MetroBus Depot making indiscriminate threats to others in the area. The subject walked away from the area as officers arrived. He walked north on S. Taylor Ave. while officers monitored his movements. Officers observed the subject harassing others as he walked, so they intervened and attempted to detain him. The subject resisted officers’ commands and assaulted them. The subject was injured in the process. He was eventually successfully detained and EMS responded to the scene. The subject was transported to the Barnes-Jewish Hospital Emergency Department, where the SLMPD met him. SLMPD took control of the report.
