Synopsis:  A WUSM employee reported an electric cart was missing from the CSRB dock. The cart was left for repair in January 2023. The cart was repaired and placed near the CSRB dock. Sometime in February 2023, the cart was removed from the CSRB dock. The employee who fixed the cart assumed the owner had picked it up after the repair was complete. The owner of the cart had not picked it up. Protective Services is investigating.

Synopsis:  A WUSM employee reported multiple pieces of of landscaping equipment was stolen from the storage shed in the rear of the 4480 Clayton Ave. Building. The pedestrian door appeared to be kicked in. Approximately $2,400 of equipment was taken. A review of CCTV footage showed an unidentified subject in the area of the shed at 12:30 am. Protective Services is investigating.

Suspicious Activity

Location: Forest Park Ave. at S. Newstead Ave.
Synopsis:  An unaffiliated subject located a City’s Finest police officer in the area and reported that someone had chased him through the WUSM campus and robbed him. Protective Services officers arrived on scene and attempted to obtain more information. The subject provided several areas  where the alleged robbery took place but could not provide information on what property was taken from him. Investigators reviewed CCTV footage in the areas described by the subject and found no footage of the subject being chased or robbed. The SLMPD reported to the scene and did not classify the incident as a robbery.

Vehicle Tampering

Synopsis:  Reported to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. Barnes Jewish Hospital Public Safety took a report of three vehicles with damage at the Euclid Meters. CCTV revealed a suspect vehicle occupied by several unidentified subjects. The same vehicle returned on 8/15/23 at approximately 4:50 am and broke into one more vehicle at the Euclid Meters. The SLMPD is investigating.

Disturbance

Synopsis:  An unaffiliated subject entered the Physical Therapy suite in the @4240 Building, causing a disturbance. Officers responded to the area and determined the subject was likely intoxicated or otherwise inebriated. The SLMPD was called to the scene and took custody of the subject.

Vehicle Tampering

Location: Clayton Garage
Synopsis:  A WUSM contract employee reported damage to his vehicle while it was parked in the Clayton Garage. The employee parked his vehicle in the garage at approximately 6:45 am. When he returned at 3:30pm, he found the driver’s door was open and the handle had been pried. He also noted that the steering wheel assembly had been pried in an attempt to get to the ignition switch. The employee’s wallet and $2000 worth of tools were stolen from the vehicle. A review of CCTV footage revealed a suspect vehicle. A relevant BOLO was issued to campus security. Protective Services is investigating.
