Location: Clinical Sciences Research Building (CSRB) 2nd Floor Tech Bar
Synopsis:  Protective Services officers responded to 2nd floor of the CSRB for a report of a theft from the Tech Bar. Employees reported two USB-C power adapters were missing from a power strip under the tech bar desk. The approximate value of both is $100. Protective Services is investigating.

Location: Biotechnology Center Building, 3rd Floor
Synopsis:  Protective Services officers responded to the 3rd floor of the Biotechnology Center for a report of a theft. An employee reported her wallet containing several credit cards was stolen. She was alerted by her bank after the credit cards were used at nearby QT gas stations and Walgreens. A review of CCTV footage showed a known trespasser was in the building at the time of the theft.  Protective Services is investigating.
UPDATE: Suspect arrested on 10/3/2025.
Disposition: Suspect Arrested by SLMPD. Judicial Disposition Unknown

Location: Farrell Learning and Teaching Center (FLTC) 3rd Floor
Synopsis:  A WashU Medicine student reported that he left his backpack containing his laptop and headphones in a classroom on the 3rd floor of the FLTC. The student used FindMy to locate his laptop in the building at approximately 11:30pm. He returned to campus on 10/9/2025 to retrieve his backpack. His backpack was still in the room. However, his laptop and headphones were gone. Protective Services is investigating.

Location: Euclid Ave. and Forest Park Ave. 
Synopsis:  An unidentified subject stole a backpack that was briefly unattended. The backpack belonged to an employee who had left it while he loaded something else into a vehicle. The employee immediately noticed the bag was missing and saw the subject walking away with it. He pursued the subject and caught up to him at Euclid and Forest Park Avenues. There was a brief struggle for the backpack. Ultimately the employee recovered his backpack and was uninjured in the process. Protective Services is investigating.

Location: Wohl Hospital Building
Synopsis:  Protective Services responded to the first floor of the Wohl Hospital Building for a report of a missing laptop. An employee reported that she last used her laptop on 10/24/2025. She did not return to work until 10/31/2025 when she noted the laptop was missing. She asked several co-workers if they used it but they had not. A review of CCTV footage in the area revealed a possible suspect. Protective Services is investigating.

Location: 818 S. Euclid Ave. Core Residence Apartments Surface Parking Lot
Synopsis:  A student reported the theft of a mirror and two bags from his motorcycle that was parked on the surface lot of the 818 Core Residence Apartments. A review of CCTV footage in the area revealed an unknown subject stole the items early that morning. The subject was a passenger in a vehicle that had been parked at the Euclid Meters. He and the driver arrived on campus approximately 30 minutes prior, and had walked through campus looking for items to steal. They stole some construction tools just before stealing the mirror and bags from the motorcycle. Protective Services is investigating.

Location: 4444 Forest Park Ave. 3rd Floor
Synopsis:  Officers responded to the 4444 Forest Park Ave. Building, 3rd floor for a report of missing petty cash. Employees reported approximately $300 was missing from the cash box. The box was stored in a locked closet. The subsequent investigation revealed the person responsible for the theft. The matter was reported to the necessary departments.

Location:  Euclid Power Plant Bike Rack
Synopsis:  An employee parked his electric scooter at the Euclid Power Plant bike rack and secured it with a cable lock. Several hours later, when he returned to retrieve the scooter, it was gone. A review of CCTV footage showed a male subject rode to the bike rack on a bicycle which he parked at the rack. He then tampered with the cable lock on the scooter and stole it, leaving the bicycle behind. Protective Services placed a U-lock on the bicycle to prevent the subject from retrieving it. The subject arrived on campus later in the evening with a female companion. Officers noticed them attempting to tamper with the U-lock securing the bicycle. The male subject was taken into custody for suspicion of theft and possession of drugs. The SLMPD responded to campus and took custody of the subject. The female subject was released with the bicycle.
Disposition: Suspect Arrested. Referred to the SLMPD. Judicial Disposition Unknown.

Location:  Mid Campus Center Bike Rack
Synopsis:  An unaffiliated subject reported his moped was stolen from the Mid Campus Center bike rack. He reportedly parked the moped at the rack several weeks prior and secured it with a cable lock. A review of CCTV footage showed an unidentified subject removed the moped from the rack on 12/8/2025 and pushed it eastbound on Nash Way, eventually leaving campus with it. Protective Services is investigating.

Location:  4510 McKinley Ave.
Synopsis:  Two vehicles were broken into on the 4510 McKinley Ave. surface parking lot. Both vehicles had a back window shattered. Several items were stolen from both vehicles. A review of CCTV footage showed an unidentified vehicle occupied by at least two subjects drove onto the lot approximately 45 minutes prior to the damage being discovered. The subjects broke into the vehicles and immediately left the lot.  Protective Services is investigating.
