The NTA elevators will be taken out of service, one at a time as needed, between 7am and 4pm on Wednesday, April 17th. This will allow contractors to install new fire alarm devices in the elevator pits and basement as part of the fire alarm upgrade project.

On Saturday, April 6th contractors will be working on the air handler that serves Lab 1754. The lab will have no airflow and may be warmer than normal during this time.

Contractors will be turning off the vacuum system that serves the lower level along with floors 7-11. No vacuum will be available during this time. This outage will begin on Saturday, April 12th at 7:00 am and run through Sunday, April 13th at 6:00 pm.

Between April 15th – May 11th contractors will be cleaning the supply duct work serving the 9th floor labs nightly starting at 8 pm and will be completed by 6 am. On Tuesday, April 2nd 3-8 am Facilities will turn off the steam that serves all floors in the North half of the building to make necessary repairs to the system. The entire north half of the building will not have steam available during this time. This outage will affect autoclaves, and building temperatures.

On Tuesday, April 16th 7-8 am Contractors and Facilities Technicians will be performing annual testing of the fire alarm Audio/Visual system at 1234 S. Kingshighway. During this test you will hear messages and see strobes throughout the building. Occupants do not need to leave the building during this test.

On March 27th from 3 am to 8 am there will be a chilled water outage for the 7th floor of the McDonnell Medical Sciences building. In this time there will be partial to no cooling for the 7th floor of the building.

On Saturday, April 13th 5 am – 1 pm National Electric Co. will be replacing the ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch) for the Emergency power in the bldg. The outage will affect all the emergency power and lighting, some fire alarm components, air handlers and Elevators. However normal power (Receptacles, lighting) will not be affected.
