Synopsis:  During routine patrol, a Protective Services officer located a known trespasser sleeping in a vacant office cubicle on the 6th floor of the CBRB.  The officer took him into custody. Officers located property in the trespasser’s possession that did not belong to him. The SLMPD was called but declined to respond.  Protective Services retained the property that did not belong to the trespasser and escorted him from campus.

Synopsis:  A WUSM employee reported the theft of a bag that contained office supplies, ear buds, and medication. The bag was last seen in a cubicle on the 10th floor of the MCC on 5/22/2025. Staff noticed that it was gone on 5/28/2025. No other items were reported missing from the area. Protective Services is investigating.

Location: Euclid Power Plant Bike Rack
Synopsis:  A WUSM employee reported the theft of his bicycle from the Euclid Power Plant bike rack. The employee parked his bike at the rack around 9:15 am. He believed he secured it with a U-Lock. When he returned at about 4:15pm, the bike was gone. CCTV revealed a subject stole the bicycle without having to manipulate a locking device. The bike was equipped with an AirTag which provided a location in Illinois. Local police went to the area and retrieved the bike. The bike was returned to the employee. The subject who stole the bicycle was identified and a relevant BOLO was disseminated to campus security.

Location: 718 S. Euclid Ave., Core Residence Apartments
Synopsis:  Protective Services officers responded to 718 Core Residence Apartments for a report of a loud disturbance. Officers located a subject in the hallway who was collecting some property. He explained that he and his significant other had a verbal argument and he was leaving. Officers determined that the subject was not a resident, but his significant other was. The significant other did not want to press the issue. Officers escorted the subject out of the building and warned him against future trespass. 
Disposition: Investigation Complete. Trespass Warning Issued.

Synopsis:  Protective Services officers responded to the Wohl Surface Parking Lot for a report of a fight in progress. When officers arrived, only the victim remained on scene. The aggressor had fled the area prior to officers’ arrival. The victim stated that an acquaintance had been harassing her via social media and had followed her to campus. The victim tried to leave the area to de-escalate the situation, but the aggressor initiated a physical assault. The victim defended herself and the aggressor fled the scene. The victim declined charges and indicated she might be interested in pressing charges.
