The male subject told the officer that the woman had been shot in the back by a “drive-by.” The officer began to assess the woman for injuries with the help of a BJH Public Safety officer. They located a gunshot wound to the woman’s lower leg. The officers began immediate treatment and requested that EMS and SLMPD respond to the scene. Officers then noticed the male subject had an injury to his hand. Protective Services noticed blood on the exterior wall of the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis. Upon investigation, the officer located a firearm hidden behind a bush near the building. A review of CCTV footage confirmed the male subject shot the female subject in the leg and likely injured his hand in the process. The SLMPD and EMS arrived on scene. Both subjects were conveyed to the hospital for their injuries. The SLMPD indicated they intended to charge the male subject with Illegal Discharge of a Firearm within 100 Feet of a School, Illegal Possession of a Firearm, and Aggravated Domestic Assault.
